It has been fascinating to watch Delta’s response to the unwanted US Airways’ bid. While it’s still too early to say how this will unfold, I think Delta’s management deserves credit for taking this seriously and rallying the employees together for a unified voice.
Delta has even developed a web site: Keep Delta My Delta.
US Airways will not give up easily and a key factor will be Washington. While there may be a formula that can be reached to gain regulatory approval, it may require too much change of the existing route structures to make it appealing to US Airways.
