Delta Continues Fare Tweaking

Posted on Tuesday 26 December 2006

This morning Delta continued to adjust its fares by filing 8,202 fare changes with a $5 increase one-way. The increases were a combination of fare matching as well as increases. The changes were made in secondary markets.

Based on a market-by-market review, this change can be viewed as a continuation of last week’s fare increase.

Right now there are many markets with a pricing differential of $5 one-way. This is a result of the fact that there were three separate models used in last week’s price increase. It is likely that we will continue to see fare change volatility as the carriers seek to reestablish pricing equilibrium.
