Delta pulled back its $5
increase (one-way) yesterday in the 12:30 and 8 pm updates.
There have been several pricing “aftershocks” following the original
airfare increase led by American on December 20th. It is typical for
carriers to tweak fares in order to realign all markets following a
system-wide price change. This round has been unusual given the three
pricing models the carriers used. The has resulted in pricing disparity
across several markets and more fare “tweaking” than in past fare
initiatives.
Given the unique nature of this last increase, I will prepare a daily
update on fare changes that can be accessed at here.
