The Associated Press reported on Friday that Expedia decided to move some of it’s American bookings off of Worldspan this week. For air bookings in the US the only other GDS supporting Expedia is Sabre. (Expedia does process some of its bookings through Amadeus in Europe.)
It would appear that the issue between American and Expedia is around the economics of bookings processed through Sabre rather than Worldspan.
My read is that both sides are actively negotiating to find a resolution to the economic question. I would expect either a quick resolution (in the three week range) or a protracted stalemate. We should know in the next month.
