American and Expedia just put out a joint press release announcing that Expedia is now showing all of American’s fares again. You may recall that there was a tiff between the two companies that was officially announced on January 11th. Today’s announcement answers the question of whether this was going to be a three week affair or a long-term freeze out.
Expedia had stopped showing everything but American’s domestic coach fares back on the 11th. Now Expedia is also showing American domestic business and first class as well as international fares.
Apparently Expedia, American, Sabre and Worldspan were able to sort out the distribution economics to get past this impasse.
I have not heard anything more about whether or not Delta has reached agreement with Expedia on the same subject. The discussion between Delta and Expedia has not been out in the public as was the Expedia/American dialogue.
