Index up 7 points as AirTran Sale Expires

Posted on Thursday 19 April 2007

AirTran’s 48 hour fare sale ended last night and the index bumped up 7 points this morning.

We’re back now at one star which means that right now fares are slightly above the values in 2005 and 2006.

Air Canada’s increase may also have affected the index, but my guess is that the AirTran sale has greater impact since it moved the lowest fares in the market.
